Have modern horror movies frightened us from seeing them?

The classic thriller "Silence of the lambs" that released in 1991 starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, was a hit in the horror gender and was recognized to be one of the best horror movies ever made.
Do modern horror movies, such as : Saw, The hills have eyes, The fog, etc... bring us the thrills and chills that classics such as Psycho? Does it leave us thinking after the movie that something is following us or someone is going to jump out of the alley with a hockey mask and machete to kill us? Or has horror movies these days shown the blood and gore and left out the suspense and thrills?

Good entry! Write more blogs and make them more visually stimulating. Add movie trailers, pictures...

The only limit is your imagination!
